Koratala explains why Devara will work in Hindi too!

NTR and Koratala Siva’s action drama Devara is set to premiere this Friday, and advance ticket sales have been outstanding, with expectations of the film grossing over ₹120 crores. The initial box office performance will largely depend on audience reactions and critic reviews.
For a PAN Indian film to achieve significant financial success, it must resonate with the Hindi-speaking audience, which represents a substantial market. Recently, the film Kalki crossed the ₹1000 crore mark, largely due to its appeal in Hindi markets. Current projections suggest that Devara’s Hindi version may open with a nett collection of approximately ₹4-5 crores. In a recent interview, director Koratala Siva was asked about the film’s potential connection with Hindi viewers.
Koratala responded, stating, “I don’t focus on such calculations while writing the story or scenes; I believe that if the storytelling is genuine, it will resonate across all languages.” He further illustrated his point by referencing films like Lagaan and Dangal, which were celebrated universally. He emphasized that if a film effectively conveys emotions and drama, it should connect with Hindi audiences without question.
